First of all, we protested outside the Brighton & Hove Council Offices due to their promotions of Beyond Retro and requested they make an ethical choice about supporting the company and the fur trade. Some activists managed to sneak in to speak to the Head of Marketing, however he refused to comment so a noisy protest was held under his office window.
Next activists moved onto the Brighton shop down a side street (42 Vine Street, Brighton BN1 4AG // Tel: 01273 671937), where a demo was held outside. Leaflets were given out to customers, however the police arrested one activist in an attempt to halt the protest.
The campaign against Beyond Retro is growing, with regular protests now starting at the Brighton store.

Please put notice of demos up in advance so we can come along!

However, what I saw today at brighton's Beyond retro by the actions of the likes of Denise Friend and co disgusted me in equal measure.
If there is an informative PEACEFUL protest I would join myself, but when a masked mob physically and verbal assaults and threatens young girls (some of whom didn't even look 18) as well as any other human being I wash my hands with it. I dare say I have as little respect for Denise as I do for those who tear the skin from animals as all she sees fit to do is threaten and intimidate people who have no control over the sale of the fur. Indeed I heard her saying she would kill the staff. Is that not the same actions she and her cronies are protesting against?
Vile and disgusting behaviour indeed!!!
Beyond Retro are selling second hand fur. Is it better to just burn it rather than make use of something? I think people should tackle the cause of the problem and maintain the use of peaceful protests

Word of advice. Youre whole approach makes you look like TOTAL FASCISTS: using the intimidation tactics of people like the EDL. screaming and bullying YET NOT bothering about TOP SHOP and companies selling NEW fur!!! Guys!!?
If you want to change fashion, speak to the fashion industry. A sh*tty shop in Brighton is NOT what defines fashion - you might want need to speak to Chanel, Versace and Armani.Or the HIGH STREET.
I am anti fur as the Next but you are an embarrasment folks. And stop using Loudspeakers - that achieves NOTHING. Its not a paedophile witch hunt in Portsmouth with falming torches!!
