Police mentality

Ratamahatta | 10.04.2009 21:28 | G20 London Summit | Repression | South Coast

I have found the reason police is angry.

just a person who observes your english bollocks, I want to say as follows.
In UK and Nederlands unlike most of other countries, police literally begs for violence. In Germany, France , Italy, Greece , Spain etc. it is so common that just a little police provocation like stealing a banner or pushing a protester causes so great chain reaction, which makes a 'black hole' in the place and the cops know whats waiting for them - a hard fucking day or week or a year plus burnt and kicked buts and battered egos.

Most don't understand how it works.

It is so bitter to say, UK protests need 'balls' , intelligence and organising or you can just carry on like that endlessly, so maybe better give up your silly protesting.

Yeah I know. I'm a cop or hypocrite or one that wants to give IP to secret service to be observed for a lifetime :)))))))))))))))))

Oh please , live me alone, I am just normal citizen. I want to marry , have kids and rich life. I am not anarchist. So help me God and holy America.

I appreciate your commentary, constructive criticism is always needed. But to criticise all UK protest methods is unfair, their are certain campaigns that I think are fantastic. The naming and shaming of police officers online (Fitwatch) is a great tactic and will possibly prove essential in identify those guilty of violence at the G20. The high level of sympatheic press the Climate Camp/Plane Stupid have galavanised must also be complemented, but only when, or if, their goals are achieved.

I do agree though that a lot of protesting in the UK is ineffective but I would argue that the reason there is so much repression of political dissidence in this country is because certain groups have proven how delicate the state and corporations are. While I have the biggest respect for those who went to the G20, whether they rioted or attended the Climate Camp, people were fighting on enemy terrority (the city of london) against a numerically surperior army equipped with endless resources and powers. Smashing up the RBS was all well and good, but now people are looking at bird for it, when in reality, they could have gone out one night, did the same job over four or five RBS' and been in bed by 6am.

I would argue that people serious about real social change should look into the tactics and methods of the SHAC campaign. Here a very small group of organised campaigners took the fight to it's most effective level. They targeted those who were in charge and they did it when and how they pleased. They didn't stick to any pre-written rule book on demonstrating but evolved constantly and took the fight to the very front doors of those who exploit our world. While everybody cannot agree with all their tactics I think alot is to learn from their campaign. Imagine numerous little cells of people striking when ever they please against a number of targets, be it policing, arms trade, gmo or carbon fuels. There's no demos for the police to get your details and no witness to give reports. It would seriously upset a lot of people.

If you hate the police, why not take it to their front doors? They are not untouchable.
