We would like to invite all those who are concerned about the Israeli state attacks on Gaza in what the United Nations describes as 'the imminent humanitarian catastrophe' to a Candle Lit Vigil at Bargate on Thursday 8th January at 7pm. We plan to observe a 30-minutes silent tribute to the dead, injured and bereaved people of Gaza after bell ringing.
Please bring candles, poems, reflections / cakes and hot drinks to share with any passersby and ourselves.
As well as anything else you think might be appropriate in keeping with a respectful and peaceful vigil.
This event will take place whatever developments occur in the situation in Gaza.

This vigil was requested by Palestinian friends / contacts in Bethlehem to be held on this Thursday -
we want to send hope to Palestinians not news of rioting.
This ought to be a safe event for little children.
See you there - bring hot drinks for sharing if you can - if not others will.
Organisers are prepared to be arrested for this event - if need be, its still happening - no approval is required.
