Here we go again - it’s war time it’s full on misinformation - it’s war

mozaz | 22.07.2003 11:14 | Sheffield

Everyday is a war. Especially if you’re on the side of those who society is dependant on but structured against - Us - yes the working class. The number of people who will be killed by American bombs is just another bunch of bodies to add to the bunch of bodies list. Amongst that mass of dead is those who die from industrial diseases (Oh, its a disease if they give it to us violently. If we give it to them its called GBH assault etc). Some of us are not human enough to be entitled to safety and security in our work environments. We are in-human - so we are denied protection. In spite of the fact the middle class are dependent on our labour - for everything. They see fit to waste us.

How many middle-class war protestors were the same fucking liberal morons urging us to vote out the Tories. How many war protestors point to the class background of those involved in fucking Iraq - the arms companies, those who sell the guidance systems, the guns, the high explosives - that are good at burning up flesh and charring bones? What class are the arms sellers, and the arms brokers from? What class are the chiefs from? the military strategists? the naval commanders? the admirals? the chiefs of staff? What class are most of the spokespeople for the anti-war protest from?

Our patriotism is for our class and for the fucking soldiers damaged and impaired, disabled from the Falkands, fucked from their placement in Ireland and the last time they were in Kuwait, Bosnia, etc. Tools of the public school boys like Blair and Heseltine. Our patriotism is for those who found out that the hard way that society has not served them but used them. There are thousands of ex-servicemen living on benefits (social welfare) and also on charity money because they are not provided for. The government will use thousands of us, millions of us to protect its own middle-class existence and their middle-class colleagues - and it will pitch people against each other and use patriotism as a weapon to treat the patriotic in an extremely unpatriotic way.

Yes the system is fucked up and the liberal opposition to the war is a mirror image of the state it claims to be against. It goes along with the sham that "democracy is good" and that war is bad. This completely overlooks the war in existence throughout the world everyday. The most active politicos always seem to be the ones so ignorant to the world that’s actually in existence around them. It’s like they don’t want to see the situation that exists in England. They romanticise globalisation.

As the UK is de-industrialised, we are disarmed, intellectually, conceptually, economically, and culturally. Stripped of our consciousness of our situation through a strenuous propaganda war. This is helped along greatly by the wanna-be working class middle class, whose language attempts to mask their class positions, and class interest. So we get media hipsters trying to not acknowledge class because it embarrasses them, because they are ashamed of their attempts to be hip and cool wanna-be working class. This situation exists in such groups as the Socialist Worker Party, and anarchists (yes there are about 20 left in England).

Class discussion cuts liberals to the bone and it humiliates working class politicos who suck up to middle-class gurus. They feel shame for their betrayal of the people they grew up with and will return to when their class flirting has left nothing but emptiness inside themselves. So: Yes it’s another fucking war - the politicos tell us. To me, a classist, it’s the same war. I won’t be protesting and making myself appear to be connected to political idiots who are virtually comatose intellectually. While the anti war shit goes on I’ll be supporting my fellow working-class friends and neighbours in dealing with life under the same classism/class oppression that continues regardless. Also, I’ll be hassling devout jews about the occupation, I’ll be hassling middle class dickheads, taking the piss out of leftwing group’s token Asians, mocking working-class idiots who mix with middle-class people. All these for my own personal pleasure. In this war, I’m enjoying the fight back. and enjoying the ingenuity of oppressed working class people in dealing directly with their oppressors.

To middle-class anti-war protesters, this so called war is another thing to get self-righteous about: "not in my name!", er, actually it is precisely in your name! To us, the tragic loss of working-class lives is an addition to the constant violence heaped on us wherever we turn. Violence that the middle-class perpetuates in schools, factories, offices and everywhere else, and generally couldn't care less about.

I’m not going to end this piece with some cliched political rhetoric, but with my favourite words. The anti-war protestors are the greatest allies of those perpetuating hell fire on Iraq’s working class people and infrastructure. It’s not opposition but allegiance to the state rule book on controlling one’s population. How sad that we can dance to our masters’ tunes, whilst we like to think we are the free thinking opposition. Openly Classist loves the disengaged and the seriously angry and, of course, the suicide bombers - whilst we oppose fully the situation which drives working class people to sacrifice themselves for their own liberation.
