The Week of Auctions: Services under the hammer

The government is planning to sell off ALL our public services - join the ‘Week of Auctions’ to protest!

Yes, you heard it right. The Opening Up Public Services White Paper (

http://www.openpublicservices.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/) recently brought out by the coalition, will mean all public services (except the military and judiciary) can be run by private companies.

Anti-cuts groups have already begin to galvanise against the plans (

http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/aug/19/say-no-to-private-sector). Groups around the country are jointly organising a ‘Week of Auctions’ to fight this government policy.

**If you didn’t like the selling off of the NHS, you ain’t seen nothing yet.**

This is the time we’ll look back on and say ‘that was the moment that everything changed’. Don’t stand still and let it happen.

They aren't our services that the government is selling off, they are the government's services, which we have become dependent on, as if they were our own. The state corporation is not the same as the common, nor is it our property. But we are the states property (if we are citizens of the state). So our property is the states property (and subject to unlimited taxation). If we wish to save 'our' assets from auction, we must first prove our lawful claim on them.

You're entitled to you view. I personally believe that a moral claim, and that the state acts with the moral (even if not lawful) authority that it is acting on behalf of the people is enough.

Why restrict ourselves to only what is lawful and ignore the moral?
