workers' cooperative and based in Oxford, England. We research and expose the ways in which large corporations operate and their social and environmental impacts.
We are ideally looking for someone who:
Has good numeracy skills.
Is computer literate.
Has research and writing skills.
Has initiative and ideas for research projects.
Has experience of grassroots campaigning and taking direct action.
Is connected to activist networks in the UK and/or abroad.
Lives in Oxford, or is willing to move here.
Is willing to share general office tasks such as making lunch,
answering general enquiries that come into the office, doing stalls at events and giving workshops etc.
Has experience of working co-operatively by consensus decision-making.
Is able to work for between £90 - £120 a week.
The job will involve:
Finance work: Taking responsibility for day-to-day financial
administration at Corporate Watch (maintaining our accounts, using Quickbooks paying bills etc).
Research: Either continuing on one of Corporate Watch's existing projects or developing and fund-raising for a new research project based on particular expertise and interest. If funding is secured this could develop into a full time position.
The job itself is flexible, and can be tailored to suit the right person.
Corporate Watch is run by activists for activists. If you are looking for a rung on the NGO/media career ladder then Corporate Watch is definitely not for you!
