This is clearly anti-islamic propaganda. If anybody wants to know about Islam please read the Quaran and Sunnah. When you have a question about their contents ask a Salafi scholar.
Would you listen to the US Fox media if you wanted to know the truth?

Free speech

What? A lecture by a Muslim who clearly follows Islam is "anti-Islamic" because she defends other oppressed groups as well as Muslims? What you mean is that she opposes your version of Islam. Now I'm not an expert on theology but I do know that no movement which considers itself irrefutably right or which excludes people on knee-jerk dogmatic grounds has ever done any good for anyone.

Hijab

05.05.2005 08:55

For a woman to clearly follow Islam (submision to THE God(Allah)she must follow
His orders - as must men. It is very clearly stated in the Quaran that a Muslim woman must be modest in her appearance for her own benefit. It is obvious to see the benefit of this. If she wears hijab and hides the shape of her body she will recieve more genuine respect and not be judged on her physical appearance. Hijab is an order from Allah for our benefit - we may not understand the benefit of His orders all of the time but we must submit to them - it is not a matter of interpretation - the rules are clear.

I recommend judging a book by its cover. Why do so many book covers show women in Hijab behind bars without smiles and women with hairdos and make up smiling? Deception is the answer.

In regards to interpretation - the instructions for an MFI table must be followed or the table will not be built. If you allow people to interperet the instructions in any way they want they will not build a table and would have wasted their money. Same with life - follow the clear rules and your life will be a success - interperet the rules as you like and waste it.

so have l got this qu'rect?

08.05.2005 18:40

Allah, via the Qu'ran has it that women should veil their bodies behind 'modest dress' so that others (men or women)not judge them on the voluptuousness (or otherwise) of their boobs, shapeliness of bums or thighs, or curve of calf. But following the link to yr website I see that Allah treats men and women equally. Now I'm fat and grey of hair and I don't want women (or maybe men, or maybe both) to judge me on ..... So would it then be cool for me to wear hijab? Would that be hunkydory with you? If not, why not?

Cool

09.05.2005 17:25

First of all, this subject is far more important than self-consciousness and temporal definitions of cool. Secondly, certain clothes have been prescribed for men. Hijab has been prescribed for women in public. It has not been prescribed for old men. Balding men do not have the same power as women in terms of destraction.

As I mentioned above it is better to refer to an Islamic scholar, if you search for "women" on the mentioned web-site you will have most of your questions answered.

Dr Tim Williams is (from Cambridge Uiversity Theology Department) is also coming to Est Oxford Community Centre soon. He is much more qualified to talk about Islam than CIA funded anti-islamic 'false - flaggers' (intelligence operatives interested in stiring up trouble and misinformation)

Cool?

Oprah Winfrey

09.05.2005 17:42

Hailed by the anti-capitalist queen Oprah Winfrey and a hoard of other great reformers that every Oxfordite shoud respect and follow - In the words of Bush - "your either with us or we will bomb you - reform the islamic world and be a good anti-capitalist useful idiot - agree with Irshid Manji or be one of them (the bombed)"

now I hope you all be good anti-capitalists and support Bushes and Ophrahs plans

Im 90% sure that old greying women are not obliged to wear hijab - even more reson for old men not to either.
Dr at East Oxford Community centre will also talk about ijtihad (except with its true meaning)

Intelligence?

09.05.2005 21:25

Certain elements previously acive in indymediaUK have abandoned it with the belief that it is in fact plagued by intelligence operatives. When I look closely it seems clear.

Indymedia is drumming up anti-G8 sentiment. The G8 has openly declared one of its policies this year to be the 'empowerment' of Muslim women. Indymedia seems also to have this policy.

We all know by now that annual mass demonstrations are, on balance, productive only for the status quo via their control of the media. Indymedia is thus strengthening the image of the status quo as the only viable option - all the alternatives (demonstrators) are violent / nuts etc.

Thus I cannot avoid the conclusion that all western political movements have the same roots and are openly united against Islam (A completely different and unique world view/reality). Their differences are in fact bogus when subject to deeper analysis.

sorry, but I'm still puzzled

10.05.2005 15:01

So Islam treats men and women equally, but they have to wear different clothes, ie not be the same?

Then again G8 calls for the end of the oppression of women in Islamic cultures, so does Indymedia. Then again Indymedia is opposed to G8, but is also fundamentally the same as it.

Sheesh, this is hard stuff. I think I'll stick to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity - much more straightforward.

There are 2 important points here the first being the illusion of choice. Just as there is no real choice between the political parties in the UK, so also there is no real choice between left and right wing - both only divert people from the truth of Islam. 'Power of Nightmares' producer Curtis says "People take so-called left or right positions and shout at each other. It's almost like the court of Louis XIV - people taking elaborate positions and not thinking very much."

 http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article8818.htm

The second important point is equality. An infantile definition of 'equality' if taken to its logical conclusion would have men and women both having babies both being masculine and feminine. In fact there wouldn’t really be any people - only some creatures that were identical in every single aspect ranging from ability and appearance to age and intelligence.

This is obviously absurd. Men and women are different - their spiritual value is equal - women however receive far more respect than men in Islam. A great warrior was once told not to go and fight Jihad because his mother was frail - aiding his mother was more important. Also one of the seven deadly sins in Islam is to speak ill of a chaste woman - no such severe warning exists for speaking ill of chaste men.

I hope this has directed you towards some understanding of reality.
