- Supporting Nottingham people going to Copenhagen, through help with fundraising, practical stuff and legal support.
- Getting together with local networks who are working on issues around the Climate Change summit and supporting events.
- Linking the East Midlands Vegan Festival (Sat 12th) to Climate Change and COP 15.
- Food and bike related outreach to talk about what's going on over there and its effects over here.
If your interested in these issues, you might be interested in a meeting happening on Thursday 12th November at the Mechanics (N Sherwood Street) - 'How Can We Make Copenhagen Work?'
A bunch of people from Eastside Climate Action will be continuing the conversation afterwards and making plans.

There is also a COP15/Copenhagen meeting on Tuesday 10th November at 7.30 at Sumac, to discuss further Nottingham plans for COP 15 discussed in the main article, above. Details of this, and future meetings, may be found at http://www.veggies.org.uk/event.php?ref=1586
-------------
The meeting at 7pm on Thursday 12th November at Nottingham Mechanics, North Sherwood St (opposite Orange Tree pub) NG1 4EZ, entitled "How Can We Make Copenhagen Work?", is a panel discussion and Question Time on the Climate Change crisis with:
* Fiona Dear – Stop Climate Chaos Coalition : Outreach Officer
* Maddie Evans – World Development Movement : Campaign Officer
* Elaine Graham-Leigh – National Campaign Against Climate Change
* Patrick Smith – Veggies Catering Campaign
* Chair: Ian Hewitt – Health in Your Environment
The meeting is arranged by the Nottingham-Copenhagen Steering Group, an ad-hoc coalition aiming to co-ordinate local activities in the lead up to Copenhagen.
The steering group comprises members of existing local networks/groups concerned with climate change and is using existing communication channels/networks/lists where possible, including the 'membership' of Climate Action Network Nottinghamshire ( http://climateactionnetworknotts.ning.com/profiles/members/) and the coalition that came together around Nottingham screenings of The Age of Stupid ( http://www.veggies.org.uk/notstupid/#nottstupid)
One of the main focuses of this group is to co-ordinate transport to the December 5th Stop Climate Chaos rally in London: http://www.veggies.org.uk/event.php?ref=1180

With livestock being held responsible for between 18% (UN Food & Agriculture Organization report, ‘Livestock’s Long Shadow) and 51% (Worldwatch Institute) of global greenhouse emissions it is appropriate that the 6th East Midlands Vegan Festival ( http://www.eastmidlandsveganfestival.co.uk/) takes place at the Council House on Saturday 12th December, slap-bang in the middle of the COP-15 Copenhagen 'Climate Summit'.
