This film is not about 'the climate', it is about oil, war, politics, consumerism and human stupidity. It is about the future of life on earth.
The Indie Screenings launch, including that at the Sumac Centre, will be simultaneously linked to an exclusive live webcast, hosted by director Franny Armstrong, with George Monbiot, Dr. Mohammed Waheed Hassan - the Vice President of The Maldives, and the MET office!
If you have not seen The Age of Stupid this event could change your life!
If you have seen The Age of Stupid you know how important it is to bring your friends.
Filmed on location in America, UK, India, Nigeria, Iraq, Jordan and The Alps, The Age of Stupid covers diverse topics including the effects of the war for oil as two Iraqi refugee kids try to find their brother, the ongoing devastation caused by Shell in Nigeria, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the conflicting interests of those proposing sustainable energy production and NIMBY opposition in the UK, as well as well-meaning but misguided 'development' in India and the resulting loss of glaciers in the Alps.
Space is limited at the Sumac Centre so if you hope to attend on Friday 22nd May, please email notstupid@veggies.org.uk . If there is sufficient interest further screenings may follow.

Hockerton Housing Project is proud to invite you to a screening of Age of Stupid, the award-winning climate change drama-documentary, on Friday 22nd May at 7.00pm (film starts 7.30pm).
Age of Stupid is an award-winning climate change drama-documentary staring Pete Postlethwaite as a man living alone in the devastated world of 2055, looking back at “archive” footage from 2007 and asking: why didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance?
* The Guardian: "The first successful dramatisation of climate change to reach the big screen."
* The Sun: “The Age of Stupid is smart”
* Time Out: “Entertaining and provocative”
* The Telegraph: “'Bold, supremely provocative, and hugely important'”
So if you are local to Hockerton, and would like to come along to our screening then please email us at hhp@hockerton.demon.org.uk or call us on 01636 816902 to reserve your seat(s).
Entrance is only £2 (payable on the door) which also includes a lovely cup of tea/coffee. See the climate change movie everyone is talking about and then hear more about local action. Can we help avert the apocalyptic scenario portrayed in the film?
