There will be a meeting on Mon 20th Oct, 7pm, Sumac Centre to discuss the future of Notts Indymedia. It will be a great opportunity to shape how the project works and input to the design of the new site. Please come along and have your say.
We are also holding a Riseup! Radio skillshare session to introduce people to the basic skills needed to record and upload interviews and podcasts. This will take place on Sat 1st Nov, 11am-5pm at the Sumac Centre.
Notts Indymedia is an independent, grassroots media project aiming to give a voice to those who are marginalised in the mainstream media. By publishing your own news you can use Indymedia to bypass the corporate media process.
Notts Indymedia is the local section of a network that has global reach. There are independent media centres (IMCs) all over the world.
Our IMC is only as good as the people who get involved in it and contribute to it. The easiest way to do this is to publish your news on the site by clicking on the 'publish' button in the top right corner. However, we're hoping that more people will get involved in the collective to write features, do interviews, contribute to the redesign of the site, etc. We're in the process of overhauling the site at the moment to bring it up to date, so it's an exciting time to get involved.
If you have a passion for getting real issues into the public eye, writing about the things you think are important and contributing to this invaluable resource, please come along to our public meeting at the Sumac Centre, Gladstone Street, Forest Fields on Mon 20th Oct at 7pm. You can meet the collective, talk about the project and find out how you can get involved.
