"Brian, Chelsea and Selina, Still here, Still fighting''

No Place for Children Campaign

"Brian, Chelsea and Selina, Still here, Still fighting

The good news is that the flight is definitely stopped and the lawyer has applied for temporary residency for the family while we get the case sorted. If that is granted they will be free to come home late today.

If not, we will need to apply for bail and hopefully they will be home early next week, all being well. If it's bail, we will need to raise the funds and a lot of people in the community and individuals in church groups have already pledged money to help.

The support has been fantastic from the community, neighbours and church groups. Friends raised the money to pay for the lawyer and their is fund-raising going on now among school friends and church supporters in case we need to put up bail. Scores of people have written to the Immigration Minister Liam Byrne, including kids from the school.

Brian said that he was okay, but didn't like living in a dungeon.

The family have seen the online petition, which has over 855 signatures, and an article from the local paper, The Nottingham Evening Post, and they were very moved by all the support they've had from friends and neighbours.

The bad news is that Chelsea the young girl has only eaten four spoonfuls of baked beans since she was taken away on Monday. The doctors at the detention centre says she will be fine like that for seven days - but she has come out in eczema, which she hasn't had before - because of the trauma. If we don't get the temporary residency, we'll be taking her case to the children's commissioner.
