We are meeting many active Israelis up for going through walls,
we did play with clown army friends in Jerusalem
and now we are proper starting with a 2 week project in Bethlehem tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone in Europe for all your support (even the knockers, the anti clowns, the zionist stooges and the negative energy vampires - you inspired us to keep doing this and never give up - so perversely thankyou too)

The first day of the trip from athina on the good cargo ship Notos was great - we did lots of practice and we made a party with the soundsystem because 2 of the crew who were nearly all egyptian, had a birthday - first party on board for 2 years
Quite mad - if we can get the pix off nicks camera we will put them on the website
The next day was not so nice too hot and shit food and dirty water
made us ill - especially matt
It was a very strange boat and general set up - random, a journey made almost impossible, thanks to convoluted security / bureauocracy; but a very good journey to make and it was a bassline of the project that we wouldn't fly. Very difficult but not impossible. Anyone wanting to know how to make this journey without flying or driving through Syria please email us. It costs 250euros per person and 500euros per vehicle, just one way, but thats just the economic cost innit?
The thought of being sent back wasnt nice at all at all.
Cyprus seemed uninspiring and that is where we wouldve been returned to and stranded
But praise the lordylordy we got into Haifa;
after 7hours questioning and searching
- everyting taken from the car into the terminal and through the xray machines and more
Yukky but hilarious at points - you can imagine - 12 trollies of unicycles and stilts and costume and 12v soundsystem and magic......but fuck it we are in yipee!
We chilled at harduf for a day and caught up with old friends then to tel aviv where we made some very good contacts with israelis wanting to come inside with us (performers activists photographers etc) which was a nice surprise
Next we went to ramallah to meet with our partners in PlayEducationChildren to organise the last details for bethlehem and hebron (which we will now do later in the tour in august, as we were so late arriving from greece and some of the folks we were going to work with were deported while we were en route.)
Matt did some trainings for the clown army in jerusalem yesterday and will do more tomorrow (hurray for random meetings with old friends from budapest)
Now today we are going to a circus fundraising party north of Tel Aviv to try and help / convince more israelis to come through the wall and be involved in summer camps and projects and then we go to bethlehem tomorrow to start a 2 week project we are making with 2 dutchgirls and a swedey.
This project will be everyday for 7 hours with 100 children (and however firm we are that figure will only go up for sure)
ending in a street procession and performance.
Full on but really good to get on with what we are here for and the vibes around the bethlehem project are really +++++
thanks everyone for all your support (even the knockers, the anti clowns, the zionist stooges and the negative energy vampires - you inspired us to keep doing this and never give up - so perversely thankyou too)
keep it real yous all

Cyprus uninspiring?
12.07.2007 14:53
well, ok, it has no character nowadays as everywhere u turn is a McDonalds or pizzahut shop. It is not exotic and has turned into the holiday destination for sunbathing and drinking more than enough beer...
BUT your comment that it is not "inspiring" is a bit shit especially if you are activists.
Cyprus is the only EU county that has a divided capital.
Cyprus still has missing people from the 1974 war
Cyprus still has a no man's land that devides the island
Cyprus still suffers from the hidden US /Uk politics
Cyprus still has UK army bases where UK laws apply and UK army has total control
Cyprus is STILL occuppied by the Turkish army.
.....i did not catch it in your article: where you visiting Palestine cos it is occupied and is suffering war? but cyprus which is occuppied is unispiring? Just cos noone gives a damn about cyprus and cos the media is not interested it does not mean it needs no activism.

yes this is an adventure only so much as we treat living as an adventure and have said stop to the shit modern life, instead making our time completely centred around making positive change and living the alternatives
speaking just for myself i am single parent of a son of 2 years old
which kind of focusses my mind on our future survival, risk and what is important
and
as a clown i try to act more like a conscious child (yes teenager was an insult) than a 'serious modern adult' and maybe you mistook my confidence focus and vision for arrogance
but seriously (tihi)
this project has taken all our resources money time and energy - we are living quite happily out of bins and travelling on used vegetable oil - so not really an excursion in your sense of the word although it is a holiday in so much as everday is a holiday and we dont have a 'normal existence' to return to
while we have that western passport in our hand we have a responsibility to use our freedom of movement and expression to agitate for change
dont mean to judge but what are you doing about the shituation in cyprus and the wider world ?
be realistic demand the impossible
apology and good luck accepted
