'Given the huge escalation of violence in the Middle East and the added danger of nuclear weapons in one country in the region, namely Israel, CND:
· urges its members to support protests against all military violence;
· calls on the government to condemn Israel's disproportionate use of military violence;
· and calls for the implementation of the UN resolution, supported by CND, for a Nuclear Weapon Free Zone in the Middle East.'
CND urges all its members to do whatever they can to implement this resolution, including writing to the Prime Minister and their MP, as well as participating in protest actions.
A national demonstration is being called by a number of organisations on Saturday 22nd July, under the slogan 'End Israel's Attacks on Lebanon and Palestine'. Assemble central London at 12 noon. More information will be available soon.
