National Demonstration - 'No Trident Replacement,' 'Don't Attack Iran'

CND | 12.07.2006 09:49 | Anti-militarism | Liverpool | Sheffield

23 September, Manchester: CND and the Stop the War Coalition are holding a national “No Trident Replacement, Don’t Attack Iran” demonstration on the eve of the Labour Party conference. Please join us to say NO to another war of aggression in the Middle East.

Saturday 23 September 1pm
Albert Square, Manchester

This is the first national demonstration to include a specific anti-nuclear message for many years! Please join us in Manchester to show the Labour Party our opposition to a new generation of nuclear weapons.

CND strongly opposes any plans to attack Iran and reacts with alarm to suggestions in the press that the US may be planning to use tactical nuclear weapons against Iranian facilities. There is currently no evidence to support US allegations about the Iranian nuclear programme. CND calls on the international community to prevent an attack taking place and urges CND's members and supporters to convey their opposition to an attack to the Prime Minister.

No empty bellies please: Plenty of Pubs in Deansgate & Central MCR

13.09.2006 14:27

After an arduous couch/train/bike/foot journey to Manchester, all but the
supermensch will be in need of sustainance.

Fortunately there's plenty of Pubs in Deansgate (where the coaches drop
you) and around the Town Hall (Albert Square rallying point).

See:
 http://www.manchesterbars.com/central.htm
 http://www.manchesterbars.com/deansgate.htm
 http://www.manchesterbars.com/deansgate-map.htm

No guarantees as to which are open on Saturday Lunch or which will fill
up first with thirsty protesters (not to mention those with full
bladders).
Best print out a list and map to take with you.

Albert Square is the kink in Mount Street as marked on

The one-way arrow for Lloyd Street points right at it.
