After the Royal Wedding - next years Queens Jubilee

Mayday | 04.05.2011 11:21 | Analysis | Culture | Social Struggles | Liverpool | South Coast

This is an independent proposal for a networked and autonomous series of groups who just organise events locally and publicise them in one place (possibly Ian Bones blog).

After the Royal Wedding - next years Queens Jubilee

Given that there was an autonomous wave of anti Royal feeling against the Wedding this year, and given the arrests. There maybe some potential in a Republican coalition that specifically attacks the Queens Jubilee next year, that contrasts the cuts with the money spent on the monarchy and their wealth, crown estate etc and which is also very ‘Defending the Right to protest’.

It should set out to be as inclusive as possible, and focus on building events around the country, confronting the Roayls wherever they go & with a big one for the ‘big day’. The key to success is clearly mobilising on an anti royal theme, which is not tied to any ideology, it should demand nothing of people in advance of involvement and just be very ‘can do’, ‘should do’. We must defend the right to protest by showing that we can target the Royals that the police want to protect at all costs.

This is not so much a case of wishful thinking, the political situation demands that we break through here and protest otherwise they have got their way and protest has been effectively banned.

no

not the same mayday

Also...

04.05.2011 13:47

...you should contrast the cost of the monarchy with the revenue it brings in from tourism, specifically due to its existence, rather than historical existence in your monarchy-free republic.

This "autonomous wave of anti-Royal feeling", how does that explain the million people out on the streets of London to celebrate the wedding compared with the few thousand thugs intent on destruction during the anti-cuts protests?

I really am not a royalist, but you are cherry-picking reality.

This revenue they say the royals bring in: I wonder how much revenue could be brought in by re-purposing for real productive use the resources currently devoted to maintaining a monarchy? Palaces, mansions, estates etc.?

Not that that's the point of course. More relevant is the absurdity of a people calling itself free and self-determining, while in fact being the subjects of a monarch. Inherited privilege is not consistent with a just society.

I think...

...no one, in their right mind, really believes they are the subjects of the monarch these days.

Subjective Thinking

04.05.2011 17:28

No one in their right mind would really consider themselves free these days.

The Monarchy and their Capitalist friends have taken control of the bulk of the land in this country over generations by murder, theft and fraud. The people have been driven into socially engineered towns and cities where they are forced to get 'jobs' i.e. they are wage slaves. See 'Town Planning'.

In addition, they have used legislation and licensing rules to limit and restrict activities on that land we do have access to. One needs 'Planning Permission' to erect building on land and this is often used as a political weapon. Even on public land, we are restricted by rules and regulations about what we can do and what we cannot do. Who makes these rules up and for whose benefit?

Those who do not have free access to land are slaves.

"There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword, the other is by debt." -- John Adams 1735-1826

The British people have been subjugated both physically and mentally.

"None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."
-- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe 1749-1832

The 'Royal' warmongers and capitalist tyrants have declared war on the British people and myself... I for one am picking up the gauntlet and will resist by any means necessary.

You need to get out more and stop worrying about it.

I don't worry about it. In fact, when i can be bothered thinking about it, I am quite happy that our government in its various forms have protected our lands from invading barbarian hordes so that our civilisation can grow. I can jump in my car and go and do what i want, where i want, safe in the knowledge that I want be attacked by another tribe on our own land. Everything is stabilised so that I can get on with my life and do what i want to do.

The only real thing that is f-ing it up is that I have to pay too many taxes on stupid things like police and social services to keep you lot happy because you can't be bothered looking out for your own welfare.

How about fighting for something important.

"Given that there was an autonomous wave of anti Royal feeling against the Wedding this year".
No there wasn't, there was an almost unanimous agreement that we couldn't give a shit!

If you want to go against the monarchy you need to do it in the 364 days of the year that no one in the country cares about them, and not the one day where everybody does (though in my opinion it's pointless).

REAL Causes

04.05.2011 23:02

Agree with previou poster... the Monarchy, while being a central part of the problem, should not be the main target but rather that which they depend upon.

The warmongering monarchy and capitalist tyrants depend on the banking system and public taxation. Every Anarchist should milk the system for every penny they can, and attack the banking system by any means possible.

One strategy I like is buying gold and silver. By doing this, you are exchanging their fiat money for precious metals. As more and more people do this, they are acting as their own bankers by storing assets. This also deprives the banking system of capital as it depreciates the currency but not the gold and silver as hard assets.

By milking the system, we are also depriving them of tax revenue that they would dearly like to spend on their warmongering and oppression at home and abroad. As Tsun Tzu said: One bushel of your enemies supplies is worth six bushels of your own supplies. Feed off the enemy.

I would also like to thank our EDL/BNP/NF friends for being such good sports and working their nuts off in debt slavery to keep the Anarchist movement so well fed and entertained. BTW - watch out for the 'Muslamics' lol

Err..... its not me that keeps the anarchist movement fed. It is the state.
I only pay those taxes because they threaten me with imprisonment. Once that part of the state no longer exists, you will need to find an alternate form of income.

Its no biggy. I don't really work my nuts off that badly. Got a job I quite enjoy and its doing something that helps ordinary people. Suggest you maybe look for the same? Perhaps become a medical doctor or something. Plenty of ill people that need helping out. Got to be better than sitting in a squat all day moaning about how the world doesn't give you everything on a silver plate. If you keep doing that, then you'll hit your forties and will start to think about how maybe sitting in a squat all day wasn't really the best way of improving ones situation.

Muslamics? Oh, i see. You are one of those.

No, I don't live in a 'squat' and I'm not a Muslim, although I sympathise with their struggle as they are being oppressed by their Fascist governments and attacked by the Fascist west.

Although, I have no time for Religious or Political extremists of any stripe who whish to impose their will on others.

As I am disabled, I have been treated with contempt by people like you all my life. The state and it's agents just want to ignore people like me. That is why I support social activists and Anarchists in particular, they are amongs the few that see me as a worthwhile individual and treat me with respect.

The police often repeat the mantra that they "represent traditional British values" and in my experience this is true. They treat the disabled and other minorities with contempt, even sniggering like schoochildren. Judging from your mocking attitude, you obviously share these "traditional British values".
