MacMalatesta On The BNP

'MacMalatesta' | 12.10.2010 12:30 | Anti-racism | Liverpool | World

The BNP are no' lookin' sae guid north ae the border! Or doon south.

Help ma Boab! Whit an interesting few weeks it’s been for the BNP. Now that the English Defence League are dominating far-right politics we should not forget the ongoing calamity onboard the Good Ship Griffin as it must gladden the hearts of anti-fascists everywhere! Deep fried Mars Bars all roond! Those of us looking on from north of the border have had a guid laugh over it all.

Liverpool
Liverpool anti-fascists have been a wee bit busy recently keeping the local fascists on their toes. Liverpool BNP continue to fragment and fall out and even a desperate visit by micro-Führer Nick Griffin has not helped calm the situation. LBNP is irredeemably split into two factions: the ‘boy division’ splinter with the ostracised Peter Stafford who is openly gay, and Steve Greenhalgh, recently photographed at Orrell Park station handing out flyers to the invisible man; and the faction led by the likes of cross dressing Tony ‘Hammerhead’ Ward and the Tierney’s, who are all pro-Griffinites. At a recent BNP meeting Tierney refused entry to Greenhalgh who filmed it and posted a whining version of it on YouTube. Crivvens! Not only that but Liam Pinkham is back on the scene. In previous posts the Malatesta’s documented Pinkham’s ousting from the British Freedom Fighters (or Big Fat Fucks) following his relationship with an underage girl. Which caused all manner of problems. See Malatesta’s Blog for further salacious details!

Anti-fascists confronted Pinkham in a pub at the weekend where the brave Aryan Strike Forcer apparently keeched his breeks. In Scotland, the SDL have been exposed as a conglomeration of unpleasant fascists from the British Freedom Fighters, BNP and National Front. Glasgow BNP have also been rocked by a damaging report by Hammy about prominent member Joe Finnie! Jings!

RIP?
Elsewhere the far right factionalism continues: the robust Sharon Ebanks has declared that the Nationalists Online forum is virtually RIP. She is pro-Butler, anti-Griffin. There is a thread pondering the future of nationalism. Here’s an answer for ye: it’s deed, hen!
The idea of a new party arising from the BNP travesty is viewed by many as unlikely and that only the removal of Nicklops and a bit of desperate rebranding with a new Führer is going to re-float the Titanic party.

Eddie Butler has stated on his blog that the BNP should comply to the EHRC demands over membership and to revise the constitution but it looks as he is stuck on the sidelines and that Griffin is very determined to keep his position until 2013 when he will handover the leadership to some other mug. Griffin is looking increasingly desperate and he has expelled many former colleagues and friends, most notably Batty Lee Barnes, who is now residing in the political wilderness and has not even been bothering ranting away to no-one on his blog. Richard Barnbrook was also expelled, thus losing a vital London Assembly member. The BNP local results have also been very poor since the disaster in the General Election. To quote from Lancaster Unity:
“There have been 65 local council by-elections since the May General Election. Courtesy of a posting on the excellent Vote-2007 website I can offer a breakdown of the BNP's vote share in those by-elections, on a region by region basis. The table below lists the region; the number of by-elections held in that area since May; and the BNP's vote share overall in that region. It makes grim reading for the BNP - and happy reading for sane human beings!
East Midlands 6 - 1%
Eastern 6 - 1%
London 7 - 1%
North East 7 - 2%
North West 11 - 1%
Scotland 1 - 0
South East 11 - 0
South West 4 - 1%
Wales 5 - 0
West Midlands 5 - 2%
Yorkshire 2 - 2%”
Crivvens!

Cash!
And the row over BNP finances continues. The latest ruse to generate much needed income is to collect signatures on the phoney ‘Bring The Boys Back Home’ BNP campaign. The political efficacy of this campaign is sketchy and anyone who signs the petition will no doubt be on the receiving end of Griffin’s begging letters. The allegations of fraud are still circulating so the BNP have set up the Financial Scrutiny Committee which has just produced its Interim Report that states it’s all above board. Phew! The BNP investigating the BNP does not entirely convince anyone and as one poster on the increasingly desperate Nationalists Online forum wrote, their report was invalid “until it is seen and presented for Audit and accepted and then by the Electoral commission and it ain’t Yet.” Right enough ye bawbag!

Conclusion
The Euro-right is on the rise with the likes of Geert Wilders and in the US the Tea Party are making a splash, but Griffclops has failed to capitalise in the way that the EDL have. Many disaffected BNP members are now in attendance on EDL demos as they see Griffin as moribund and untrustworthy. They want a bit of action and the EDL can supply it. The BNP continue to flounder and the election results don’t inspire confidence. The VNNuk forum is still rabidly Griffinite and expends considerable venom on the National Front who they see as a possible rival should the BNP go under and certainly they have gained from ex-BNP membership drift and could step into the BNP’s increasingly sweaty and down-at-heel shoes. However, the NF has been taken over by untrustworthy factions that could check this should it come to pass. For further details see:

In conclusion: BNP? Yer no doin’ sae weel!
