every bullet fired is another dollar in the pocket of the arms industry

dave belsson | 23.08.2007 22:28 | Liverpool

the murder of the young lad from croxteth Rhys Jones - is another example of the madness that is spreading across our communites

Those who shout very loud - the politicians and police talking about how young people are going more and more out of control. Have nothing to say about the arms trade. after all who produces the guns, the bullets - who makes the profit - who industry relies on the fact that guns and bullets need to be used and bombs need to be dropped sotheir industry can survive. Why are the police not arresting those in the arms industry. If they really want to stop this why don't they just go the core. and do somethign about it.
We have to remember the more people killed by guns, the more we alllive in fear a little more - the more the security industry makes profit.

1. Even if every gun manufacturer stopped making guns today, there would still be millions upon millions floating around.

2. Most bullets bought and sold on the streets of the UK are not made by recognised, legit weapons manufacturers but rather by criminals in back street factories 'off the radar' both here and in eastern europe.

3. Most of the weapons used on the street in UK are reactivated replicas and deactivated weapons or imported cold war era stock from the old Soviet bloc - can't blame big business for that one!

Nice sentiment though.

You turn and run when the bullets fly...

Guns and bullets can be made without touching an armament factory if that's what you want. You read like someone afraid of their property price falling. Do you you really give a shit about the young lad in Crocky who was killed?

Solution

Most guns used in crimes have identifiable manufacturers. There was a legal attempt in the States a few years ago to sue the manufacturer of a gun used in a killing for the use of that weapon. If that berieved mother had succeeded then there wouldn't have been the recent slayings. If you can sue cigarette manufacturers for their products ill-effects, then why not gun-manufacturers ?

Follow the money -- then remove the profit-motive. Problem solved.

Almost 50 Liverpool videos on YouTube

28.08.2007 23:00

There is a blog up with quick links to the vile filth being put on YouTube as a representation of the Liverpool working class estates.

Did you know that YouTube hosts....

Death threats to Merseyside police
Death threats to local youth, named (various areas)
People named as 'grasses' (death threat in certain areas)
Anthony Walker memorial videos, full of vile racist comments and slurs
Hillsborough memorial videos full of vile comments
Even the Rhys Jones memorial videos have comments mocking the death.
Munich 58 'karaoke'
An AK47 being fired in Toxteth
Guns fired in several areas.
People assaulted.
Phone box blown up.
Stolen cars, bikes and pit bulls.

The worse videos (more found everyday) are the 'happy slapping' videos, AKA criminal assault.

This is an evil form of bullying in which getting hit is not just the humiliating part. Kids today are haunted by some clique of bullies who have MySpace and YouTube accounts, using them to bully other kids. Schools who allow kids to use these websites are making a serious mistake.

Address is www.liverpoolonyoutube.blogspot.com

A warning is issued on the website as a lot of local people will be upset at the videos and comments taken from YouTube. There really is some nasty stuff there.

It shows a side of Liverpool some might wish to ignore.
