Merseyside Coalition Against the War are supporting the Friends of
Palestine Picket / demonstration at the Liverpool versus Maccabi
Haifa football match on Wednesday 9th August at Anfield and call on
trade unionists to show Israelis that we are totally opposed to
their murderous activities in Lebanon. The football game will be
shown live on Israeli television and the key may well be to bring
banners / placards to show Israeli people exactly what the views of
trade unionists and anti war campaigners are.
and outside of the ground) condemning the attacks on Lebanon and the
role of the UK and American Governments. Merseyside TUC and
Liverpool TUC in particular stress the importance of NO
ENCROACHMENT ON THE PITCH. This would be a negative move, and given
the events at Hillsborough, would antagonise the Liverpool
supporters and turn them against us.

I would reiterate the NO INCURSIONS ON THE PITCH call because that is incredibly illegal under the football offences act and conviction can result in 10 year banning orders and restrictions on international travel.

Just cos you don't give a fuck doesn't mean its right.
Peace needs a major change in the conscience of the majority of Israeli's and boycott of sports is an effective way of encouraging it - ala South Africa.
As for your claim that Brits should sort out their own state before pointing a finger at Israel, you've clearly missed the point. The UK state and Israeli state are joined at the hip, and Israeli aggression puts all of us in danger.
