How do you feel about the antifash publishing photos, names and addresses of those whom they disapprove of? This has also led to savage beatings of persons suspected (maybe only by the publisher) of being members of the BNP, NF etc.

Any political movement which fails to commit itself to peaceful means, and to respect the rights of those whom it disagrees with, including the right to meet and speak has no place in a democracy. Anyone claiming otherwise is a far greater fascist than the worst of the far right.

Redwatch dosn't deserve to be taken seriously, and I don't think many people do. If any assault has taken place on anyone 'featured' on redwatch, that is a matter for the police to take up with the persons responsible. Claiming that "redwatch told me he's a commie" won't sound that good as mitigation in court.

Redwatch gets updated for the first time in ages and two supposed anti-fascists are drawing everyones attention to it on the IMC newswire. Also providing links to it......

When the media refers to the names of fascists, they are doing one of three things: - they are (a) reporting crimes
(b) referring to fascists who have entered the public realm, by standing as candidates for local elections,

When "Redwatch" features photographs of anti-racist protestors, they are normally ordinary members of the public, including.......

(c) women and children, including families
(d) anti-war protestors (who aren't even necessarily protesting against neo-Nazis like the BNP - why are they there??? - if so called self-defence is listed as a motivation by the defenders of pure hate, and that's all Redwatch is, anti-war protestors shouldn't even be on the website. the main pictures of leeds crown court demo were taken on a olympus camedia c-130 digital compact, serial number 435-87756 a poor quality low resolution, budget camera, the other 2 were taken on a nikon d70 most likely by a indymedia photographer and probally stolen from socialist worker or even this website, redwatch forgot to strip out exif info but reposted next day with the information missing, most likely when someone pointed this out.

Would you care to expand on your identification of the cameras ? I've never had to think about how to identify a camera from a photo, especially published on the web and am curious how you can be so precise. I don't doubt your judgement but how certain are you of your identifications and how did you reach them ? Can you do this with all photographs and are there relevant websites that expand on the subject ?

basically an image has digital data written within it, most people do not know how to strip it out, it stores camera make , model, serial and exposure and shtter values and time stamps.
a simple way to remove it is to save your image as a bitmap and then convert it back to jpeg by resaving it, all info will be lost, unfortunatly they have reposted the images with it striped out yesterday

Ach, I'm a computer guy, I should've known that. Thanks though, I do now. A few years ago there was a plethora of leaked information caused by people posting Word documents without cutting the 'history/undo' info from them first, same sort of thing. Just to pick your brains further, are there ways to identify non-digital cameras from photographs ?

PS is that an unique serial number on the camera and is there any way to trace it ? I'm a firm believer in using the law, or any other bullying force, to my advantage when I can. It's just a couple of my friends are on Redwatch and while I'd be willing to kick the webmasters to hospital, a criminal conviction would satisfy my sense of fair-play.

It would seem that ASBOS have been granted against racial hatred supporters. Redwatch could reform its language. But clearly the structure of the sites demonstrates that it is specifically targeting different geographical areas in a methodical fashion. It could reform its site structure. It does target specific people. Which ensures the organisers are open to an ASBO.
