Liverpool – Capital of Culture or
Capital of Chicanery?
Laing O’Rourke is the main contractor on the Paradise Street Project. They:
· Refuse to pay workers their legitimate entitlement to a pay increase dating back to 27th June 2005.
· Refuse to allow workers the right to meetings on site.
· Place restrictions on Union Full-Time Officers who wish to make site visits.
A ballot of the workforce resulted in 94% in favour of pursuing these grievances.
At the start of the contract Laing O’Rourke agreed to the pay rise. Now they have gone back on that agreement.
Rank & File Builder wonders if the City Council knows what Laing O’Rourke is up to?
Do they care?
We call on Laing O’Rourke to honour agreements.
Support the Paradise Street Project workers.
