This is the second of a series of open meetings about the meaning of Liverpool. The topic for this is: 'Enabling local grassroots organisations and supporting diverse culture within the cultural regeneration of Liverpool'.

This is the second of a series of open meetings about the meaning of Liverpool. The topic for this is: 'Enabling local grassroots organisations and supporting diverse culture within the cultural regeneration of Liverpool'.
All are welcome to take part in this meeting, which aims to provide a space in which to consider the regeneration of Liverpool with others. We aim to have a round table discussion and so there will be a range of speakers from the floor, we invite you all to take part.

Speakers who will be helping us to open up the discussion include Jim Bennett, local poet and educator, representatives from the Culture Company, and Dr. Martin Carey of Urban Hope.
Jim Bennet: local published poet and educationalist, active within the community as an artist working with various local groups at the grassroots. His book The Man Who Tried to Hug Clouds is published this month.
Dr.Martin Carey: Director of Urban Hope. Urban Hope is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Liverpool Hope University College with expertise in the areas of widening access, regeneration and enterprise. It prides itself on finding solutions to difficult urban challenges and on its track record in making a difference in the area of social justice and inclusion.
Alicia Smith and Eileen Willshaw from The Culture Company: Alicia Smith is Creative Neighbourhoods Manager, and Eileen Willshaw is Creative Heritage Manager. Together they will outline the work of The Culture Company, with specific reference to work at grassroots level.
Refreshments: free food and drink will be available. (Please RSVP to enable us to gauge the amount of food etc. needed.)
Parking is available on site.
