Liverpool Students and the TUC is holding a debate on the proposed introduction of top-up fees next week, everyone is welcome.
The much-debated issue of University top-up fees will be discussed by experts at a public meeting next week. Held in conjunction with Liverpool’s three student unions and Merseyside TUC, the issues facing students, the HE sector, and the government will be debated with students, parents, teachers and any other interested parties.
Chaired by Alec McFadden (President, Merseyside TUC), a panel comprising of Richy Carrothers (Regional Officer, AUT), Adrian Jones (Regional Officer, NATFHE), Julie Lyon-Taylor (Dep. Gen-Sec Liverpool, NUT), Bob Wareing (Labour MP for West Derby), and Liverpool’s student representatives will present their views and answer questions. The meeting will take place at Liverpool Guild of Students, 160 Mount Pleasant, from 6.30pm to 8pm on Thursday January 22nd. All are welcome.

as a matter of fact some of us are perfectly capable of being intelligent and educated without being set homework. we do our own research, we debate amongst ourselves.
some of us would consider staying in school until you're in your twenties to be the easy option. university is allowing people to tell you how you should think, instead of hunting around and drawing your own conclusions. university is recieving training so you can jump straight into a job, instead of working hard from the bottom to achieve a position you have earned.
