The art exhibition, This War Through York Eyes is running from 9th May to 9th June at City Screen organised by York Against The War. It reflects popular reactions to the 8 year 'war on terrorism', the ideological and military campaign with its illusive aim and civilian bloodbath, which inspired the largest anti war demonstration on record.
On display are banners used in national demonstrations, together with paintings and collages created by York citizens- artists and amateurs. They express colourfully, plainly or wittily a range of responses, from anger and frustration to puzzlement, sceptisism, doubt and pity.
Hope you will be able to visit and take inspiration. Please leave a comment in our visitors/comments book.
We will be hosting an Arts night in the City Screen Basement toward the end of May. Stay in touch through our web site.
Best Wishes from The Exhibition Group, York Against The War.
