Ilkley Animal Rights held a demonstration outside Ramus, in the town centre, because of their sale of foie gras.
Banners were held outside their new shop, which has only been open less than a year, and leaflets were given to the public leading to over a dozen vowing to boycott the firm. The local press came down to talk to the protesters and took pictures leading to the MD of the company to drive from the Head Office in Harrogate to the Ilkley shop and try to repair the public image of Ramus.
The Box Tree are another restaurant in the town who sold foie gras, but following the press contacting them about the issue they decided to remove the dish from their menu.
