The Canadian Navy states that the three bodies have so far been located with one still missing presumed dead.
Footage obtained from the hunt has shown the hunters ignoring guidelines on animal welfare distributed by the Canadian government, seal carcasses have been left on the ice, whilst some reports are emerging on seals being skinned alive despite a ban on the practice. Further reports of malpractice and illegal activities are still incoming.
The direct action conservation group Sea Shepherd is expected to arrive off the coast of Newfoundland within the next day, despite threats from the coastguard warning of arrest. Sea Shepherd founder and director Captain Paul Watson has this to say:
"The Minister is making some very irresponsible statements here. Canada has no right to restrict entry of a foreign registered ship into the 200 mile economic exclusion zone when said ship is not engaged in economic activity. The Farley Mowat is a Dutch registered yacht crewed by international volunteers, none of who are paid to be on that ship. The ship has the right of passage and that is guaranteed by international maritime law. We suggest that the Minister consult with his attorneys before making further threats"
With the prospects of a European seal pelt ban looming and increased pressure by activists, it is only a matter of time before the hunt is finally stopped. By hitting the sellers of this product the hunt can effectively be bankrupted.

I also wouldnt take joy in the death of another human being... i see little difference between the morality of clubbing seals to make a few bucks and laughing because three human beings are dead.
perhaps you would care to point out the difference

Euthanasia is different to killing fit, healthy families of seals. I am sure or I would hope that you felt sick and would have found it a very traumatic and would not like to have to do that again, although you did sound a bit weird with your description of the cracking of the skull!!.............................................

Dehumanizing groups of people because we do not like what they do, are tricks normally played by governments, television and Rupert Murdoch. I suggest you throw your television out with the rest of your weekly rubbish and stop reading newspapers as they are both apparantly impacting on your humanity and freedom to think.
The men who club the seals must do so by detaching themselves from the fact they are living feeling creatures and you detached yourself from the fact that these men are living feeling creatures. That is what I meant by "I can see no difference in the morality of them clubbing seals for a few bucks and you laughing at the mens death."
Both of you, seal clubbers and laughers of death, are detaching from your humanity.
You would better serve the seals cause by remaining humane.

I do, however, have this to say.
I don't feel particularly sad about the fact that the hunters died, I'm pretty indifferent about it. But I don't hope that they suffered. And I think that posting a comment so harsh as that, especially when calling yourself "Alf" is a pretty shit thing to do.
Fair enough, don't feel sad for them, by all means be happy if you want to be, but don't make it public knowledge. It's a shit thing to say about any life - human or other animal, and it makes the (already tarred) reputation of the animal rights movement even more looked-down upon.
A guideline of the ALF, furthermore, is that no animal's life, whether human or non-human should be harmed during an action. I know this wasn't an action, just an accident, but I think it applies that no life should be made to suffer or have suffering wished upon it.
What the hunters do is absolutely disgusting, and they must have some kind of mental problems to be able to cause such suffering to animals, but I don't wish suffering upon any animal.
That said "Karma in action" is a comment I'd def' agree with.
Keep up the good fight(s), don't fight among ourselves.

It is because we have feelings that we feel distressed and emotional about animal abuse, abusers don't, that is why they are abusers! ARA's do not attack or injure animal abusers precisely because we have feelings!
Do not compare me and other ARA's with Blood merchants!
Evil governments/regimes abuse and kill, ARA's fight against abuse and murder. So if you are going to compare anyone make the comparison with the animal abusers themselves.
Read my posting again and stop looking so deep into the issue of someone posting "ha ha"

There are plenty of people who would support you but just roll their eyes and walk away when you equate the value of the life of an animal to that of their own child. Imply that valuing a human life more than an animal is tantamount to condoning abuse and 90% of the population will write you off as a nut and ignore you.
If the issue you are trying to make the public aware of is so wrong, then it shouldn't need a human analogy - the treatment will be self-evidently cruel.
