Benefit gigs ? ?

Why not organise your own benefit gig? If you'd like to start off small, all you'll need is a couple more bands/acts (maybe even just one more) and yourselves to play, a venue and a cause.

As far as a venue goes, you could do it for free in a pub (pub owners don't really have any complaints if you're putting on free live music, all the better for them) and have the bands ask for donations, as well as "pass a hat around", sell merchandise (for example t-shirts or zapatista coffee and whatnot) and have someone with a donation box standing by the door at closing time.

I'm sure you'll have no problems finding a cause, but I'll still suggest the Anarchists Against the Wall, a direct action group made up of Israelis and and Palestinians who take part in weekly non-violent demonstrations against the apartheid wall and fence in Palestine. They're over $20,000 in debt in legal costs so any money they get is a real help. Their website is:  http://www.awalls.org/

Great idea there, is there anything else you'd be willing to do to raise some funds?

If so please do send an e-mail, i'm supporting the campaign against foie gras and need someone to mimic the proboscis down the throat method so distastefully used within the industry.

Please support alternative cruelty free methods of over feeding geese and ducks so they get liver disease.
