"Goal Dreams"
GOAL DREAMS is a wonderful new documentary feature focusing on national and personal identity as experienced by a sports team like no other before. Comprised of multiple cultures, speaking different languages and having no home field, the Palestinian National Soccer Team must overcome physical, emotional, cultural and geographic obstacles in order to even exist.
This thought-provoking film follows the team and its players as they prepare for a decisive match that will qualify them for the 2006 World Cup. Together, through the universal language of football, these athletes of Palestinian origin from around the world learn to forge a common identity, while a nation learns of both the hope and tragedy that lay within its dreams.
