The conference, held June 2-4, 2006, will be as interactive as possible. There will be small group seminars, led by facilitators who have prepared and pre-submitted papers. These will be available to everyone in good time for the weekend.
Brainstorming sessions, opportunities to reflect, shared meal times, creative worship, opportunities to hear an outside agency and experience dialogue with non-Christian anarchists will all characterize the event. The utterly uninitiated will be catered for too.
This event is the first of its kind in the UK so there will be an emphasis on looking for future objectives together.
The theme of the weekend "God Save the Queen: Anarchism and Christianity in today" gives a broad remit to reflecting on what it means to be a follower of Christ in a world of increasingly centralised power and state sponsored violence. A lot of the seminars will be theoretical, even academic, but hopefully accessible to everyone.

Duty of the Monarch
30.05.2006 17:05
Fascist Politicians are so panicked about that they are trying to pass laws to make voting compulsory. What the Queen's personal advisors are thinking is secret, if they do think. Are we going to see a Monarch declaring that the Will of the People is a State of Anarchy? That the duty of the armed forces is to protect it against foreign Hierarchies,
That is an enormous change. Could the country cope with such a jump? Such change could be introduced gradually, First some Counsil seats would be vacant because less than 50% voted. In some places councils would not sit as less than half their seats would be filled. It would then be necessary to remove the Chief Executives from office as they would then have even more power that they now have through bribing people to serve in their Cabinets. there is more pay for that.
It is implied that in a State of Anarchy, there would be no money. We could follow Jesus there "Render unto Caeser that which belongs unto Caeser" is a straightforward instruction not to use Money.
The Governent wants a docile easily controlled population. To that end they have entered into foreign contracts that have destroyed the British Islands ability to feed themselves. That is the biggest obstacle. Whether the Civil Service will be flexible enough to organise a functioning Anarchy without coercion remains to be seen. But that will be their duty when the Monarch declares a State of Anarchy.
One of the big problems is likely to be those Christians who regard Jesus as their Lord and Master rather than their Brother.

keep it up, perhaps post a report + comments next week . . . . often the "afterfx" of these wrkshps have people putting off feedback + reportbacks, but its often the key thing!
any news of other religions/ spiritual approaches "re-opening old books" to re-remember . . . . please pass news into newswire
(pleased to hear wiccans getting over the "wicked" cul-de-sac(scam) to discover actual meaning of word, for instance - i.e. "spirit of old community" ( as in "wick" on a placename - oldtown +! ).
the original translations of some texts are worth going back to, very, alongside a historical comprehension, seeing the "nicea" compromises (+ some textual rewrites, inserts etc,) for what they, perhaps are. A big old ecclesiastical dictionary or two helps to resort wheat from chaff, to recoin a phrase!!!! - with research thats sceptical of the current infowar too!)
Good, then, also, to see the way that sent the "desert fathers" + donatus people into the long trek that ended with them, too, having found refuge in Wbriton + associated islands . A tolerant approach to those "compromised" strands is crucial too - the universalism / managerial attitude in that twin track approach - that echoed the "jamnia" "split" plausible denial after the 0060s risings - is a good way to comprehend the events afterwards, mistakes, tragedies + everything. It is worth remembering the original translations of the opening phrases of "John"s gospel + letters, that refrain of rejecting "seperating people from ancestors" etc - echoing the unity of spiritual integrities against the slavers, the slackness, the stupidity of that degraded selfpoisoning set of selfdeluded gangsters that had stolen the name of "Roman", circa 35 ad.
as i said - good luck + post further news.
ps.... although in the "radical" niche, thinking out of the box is infectious in these times, (good thing too) - the new York blokes inductionthingy is a good recent memory - so it should get easier to swap ideas with the people that are in the "AUTHORISED" seats at present.
pps.... perhaps the it was "desert fathers" that existed in or near the same caves where that good islamic bloke did some of his good thinking - they seem to have much more in common than seperates them - but perhaps thats a different strand for some other time - or ?!
