There are many people in the UK who are destitute and face deportation after "failing" to get through the asylum process. As access to legal support decreases and decisions are made faster these numbers grow. Most of these people are then left in limbo with no legal status, no support and potentially facing deportation or homelessness.
We are trying to establish a local visiting group to visit people in detention centres and prisions (some "deportees" are illegally held in prisions) to offer support - either in being someone to chat to or helping with their legal case.
