Activists from SAC(Safer communities for Activists) and elsewhere took part and silently held boards and banners, calling for Re-Tool to Peace, to the thousand or so BAe staff and support services at Shift Change/lunch time on Monday (11.30am to 2pm).
The protest was small and mainly visual not vocal, but comments were exchanged and there was dialogue with the BAe Chief of Security at the site who appeared to be keeping a record of the number of times that people had protested there. Apparently, monday was only the 5th time in 8 years that this weapons components/systems manufacturer had been visited, despite it being the crucial lynchpin site for the BAe Hawk Jet to India and Indonesia disgrace of recent times.
Perhaps next time, the Security Chief will be counting more than 4 protestors at the gates? The site is huge, just literally round the corner from the Brough train station,on Saltgrounds Road, is 6 miles from Hull and served well by an A - road (whose number I cant remember) and, just for good measure, they have an old style "Buccaneer" Jet on display at the adjoining BAe owned airstrip and training site. The SAC(and friends) protests/visits will continue, approxiamately, every month.

So much going on(G8 stuff/No Borders/No ID, etc) but WOULD be good, wouldn't it to get more and regular, even varied protests at Brough BAe and other sites. There is an air show/arms fair this weekend July 2nd/3rd at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire and the likes of BAe and other arms/weapon makers, exhibit their stuff there.
Does anyone know if they have unions there at BAe Brough? If so, which ones?as there is a call to conversion and it would be useful to find out the main contacts. Do they work at weekends?
Perhaps, on the next Brough/BAe protest there,ll be 14 people, or even 40!
Hopeful.

Get yer head outta yer kindergarten books and grow up bobby boy.
Think da union is interested ? No! The only thing unions are interested in is self -serving for their own members. An after they've all done very well thanks in the arms trade for many many years, you won't get a look-in Simple-Bob.
The name ? Work it out.

Well, THANKYOU, at last, for this posting. Is there any more information on unions and any more people interested or active for protesting at/or writing to BAe systems sites, so that we can hurry these self-centred investors and shareholders into withdrawing their blood money from the arms trade?
With respect, thank you, made real for your insults and comments.
Kindergarten will tell you that puerile is spelled puerile NOT purile and
