Every Tuesday, between 6 and 8 pm there is a peaceful vigil outside the main gate focussed on the people who work at the base. Through the bitter winter months veteran campaigners Lindis Percy and Anni Rainbow have often been there alone, making people entering and leaving the base aware that their presence is questioned. Reports of these vigils can be read here: http://cndyorks.gn.apc.org/caab/index.htm.
This week the vigil was joined by people from Sheffield and Rotherham including a samba contingent from Rhythms of Resistance Sheffield. After about an hour Lindis Percy was arrested for allegedly blocking the road. Tonight's charge brings the number of cases against Lindis to 32 – these are due to be heard by District Judge Anderson on 7th April at Harrogate Magistrates' Court.
