Leeds Underground Film brings another edition of free film screenings and workshops to the city , this year inviting you to dissent with us in Scotland where the next G8 summit will take place (July 2005). In past years, everywhere they have tried to meet they have been met with a massive response from the world's social movements.

Khunya is the son of a Kenyan church leader. Arslan grew up in Pakistan religious capital. Ana Claudia was a well-known sports caster in Brazil. All three shared a terrible secret, which if discovered, could have destroyed not just their lives, but those of the people closest to them: they are homosexual. This way out recounts their fight to the United States where each claims asylum based on their sexual orientation.

Using hidden cameras, members of the animal rights organization capture the horrifying reality of live stock auctions. This footage exposes the often overlooked process that non-human animals experience before they are sent to slaughter.
6.50 PM WORKSHOP INDYMEDIA (40 min).
Leeds-Bradford Indymedia is part of a global network of locally based websites offering independent, non-corporate news coverage. It serves as a space in which people are free to present their own stories and versions of events. The workshop will outline the histroy of the global IMC project and how Leeds-Bradford IMC came to be. It will feature an interactive session on how to use the site, post your own news, stories, musci, radio, film, whatever!
