Along with thousands in cities around the world, people turned up in the centre of York to protest about the Massacre in Rafah. Over 100 people came to show their solidarity with the Palestinian people who are being killed, and their homes destroyed.
Protestors gathered in Parliament Street in the centre of York. The protest lasted for about an hour with many people coming to join the demonstration, helping voice their opposition to the 109 Palestinians killed since the beginning of the month. People came to talk to the group holding Palestinian flags, placards and leaflets.
York Palestine Solidarity Campaign called the demonstration, they were asking people to "only vote for parties ... that call for an end to the occupation of Palestine and the EU-Israeli trade agreement", "write to your MP, MEP and local press", "Boycott Israeli good" and "Join the Palestine Solidarity Campaign". Activists from the PSC called an end to the protest after less than an hour.
