There were some speakers that talked about the cold-blooded killing of Ahmad Yasin and how that would create more problems than bring peace in the Middle East conflict. The people were holding baners and were shouting slogans about Palestine. In addition to that there were members of the "Stop The War" coalition and the "Socialist Worker" that gave leaflets to the people. The protest lasted for approximately one and a half hours.
A peacefull protest of around 200 people was held in Bradford the same day.
The photos below are from Leeds.

Not Against Isreal

This is a subtle and important difference. I don't beleive that Leeds stop the War, or any of the protesters present are against Isreal or -by implication- Isrealis, but against the actions of Isreali government. The assisination was a terrible and disgraceful act of war but it in no way dimishes the right of Irealis or Palestinians to live in their own state.
Hopefully those present at the demonstration will be equally critical of any revenge action by Hamas against innocent Isrealis Jews.

Israeli State, not Jews to blame

Do Hamas check how each passenger on a bus voted before they set off a suicide bomb -I don't think so. Do Hamas check how people voted before a suicide bomber strolls into an crowded restaurant and murders to customers -I don't think so.
It is the equivilient to you or I getting murdered by a terrorist because of Tony Blair's invasion of Iraq.
You should re-think your comments. Hamas are a bunch of indescrimate Jew-hating murderers. Israels continued actions in the occupied territories are a disgrace but suicide bombers are not the answer.

So what's the solution? :O
Down with Israel >:@<
No wait, that spells humanitarian crisis.. how can you just eliminate a country?
Same way Israel managed to eliminate half of Palestine after WWII and then occupy the rest in 1967.
See what I'm saying?
