There appears to have been a traffic campaign by police on Birley Moor Road. Speed cameras now in situ but also police sitting in cars at a number of spots awaiting `a capture`. Numbers of police cars grouping together spotted..must be their `tactics meeting` and police cars roaming the road..leisurely. There is a health centre on that road full of community workers, staff there use the road a number of times daily. Those breaking the speed limit have been pictured and fined, others have had police crawling/following with no outcome. I experienced being stopped for pulling onto the road too soon in front of them..i was not speeding. Despite my not breaking the law,(i had made an error of judgement), i was locked in the back of a police car with two officers insisting on treating me like an idiot, demonstrating a lack of social skills to manage somebody who would not conform to a patronising telling off or listen to their statiatics re traffic deaths on that road.
In comparison,in south-east sheffield, there are some very deprived areas. The health centre treats people who are not coping with life. Many live in fear in their community, crime, violence, terrorising and looting occurs. As Norfolk Park is
demolished..people waiting to be re housed are left isolated in blocks of maisonettes. Fire setting and looting are expected by residents. So where are the Police?
Well they are all flexing their muscles on Birley Moor Road , so it seems that Norfolk
Park,Gleadless and Manor are not high on the interest/resources list..but as least we know that everyone is drivng at 30mph on Birly Moor road.

The same goes to everyone else out there! I've just been reading the telegraph - plenty of stories about this great Sheffield company that won the Chamber of Commerce Export Award last year... all very interesting I'm sure, but while the rest of us wait for the wealth to trickle down, lets hear some other voices. Get writing!
