Sizewell Exclusion Zone

plunk | 17.03.2011 07:27 | Climate Chaos | Energy Crisis | Cambridge

The various Japanese exclusion zones mapped onto Sizewell Nuclear Power Station. Why Sizewell?
1. In 2007 the fuel pond leaked at Sizewell A and it was only accidentally detected by some contractors since the workers ignored the various alarms.
2. Sizewell B was forced to shut for 7 months last year due to problems with its primary cooling system. During the closure a fire broke out in some graphite filters but was eventually put out by 12 fire crews and site fire workers.
3. In February this year Sizewell B was forced to shut again due to another problem with its primary cooling system
