Protesters Back at Fur Seller Dixie's Clothes Stall

Animal Rights Cambridge | 30.01.2011 19:54 | Animal Liberation | Culture | Social Struggles | Cambridge | World

Vintage fur perpetuates the fur industry, as fur is made 'acceptable' in the vintage scene, it finds it's way on to the catwalk in the form of new fur. Indeed new 'imperfect' fur is often passed off as vintage by manufactures and finds it's way into vintage retailers.

Anti-Fur activists were back once more at Dixie's Vintage Stall in the market square, this time for a Saturday demo. Dixie's stall is believe to be the only retailer in the City still selling fur.

Once again petition sheets were quickly filled by supportive members of the public. The stall also had next no customers yet again showing the effectiveness of this type of protest.

No police or other 'authorities' spoke to the protesters on this occasion and all went smoothly. The male from the stall came a stood close to protesters - once again giving the impression that he was one of the activists!

If you are in Cambridge town centre please pop by Dixie's stall and let them know that selling fur is unacceptable. Customers will continue to drop until the stall goes fur free! Time for Dixe's stall to drop the fur once and for all!

Question

Going on animal rights in Cambridge in the past (e.g. Girton Lab, Midsummer House, Foie Gras stall, that shopping centre mobile farm show thing, Mook Vintage, Biocair etc, etc, etc) this is only going one way! The only question is whether Dixie's is going to be reasonable and succeed without the fur or unreasonable and fail with it. I hope they drop the fur,,, I kinda' liked that stall.

Fur is dead

Why the hell is this stall sellin fur!??! Don't they think there might be a reason no one else in Cambridge sell it? Cos no one freakin wants it!

In terms of profits all that keeps that stall going is the few fur items they sell, as most ppl avoid them cos of the fur. If they ditched the fur they could actually make decent cash,

the profitable competition

So true. The difference between a failing business and thriving one is the ability to adapt and change as is needed. These lot being stubborn is the most stupid commercial decision possible. If your right about the cambs animal protesters past success then the stall holder must be down right dumb!
