20 years after the crackdown, the wall of secrecy remains. Mothers are forbidden to mourn their lost children. Exiles are refused the right to go home. Many still languish in jails. Discussion of "The Incident" is strictly censored.
To remember the victims of Tiananmen and to renew the call for justice, Camridge University Amnesty International and Chinese Salon are organising a lantern floating ceremony on June 4th. We will gather from 8.00 p.m. on Midsummer Common, by the Fort St.George Pub, where help will be on hand to help you make your own lantern. We also provide an online lantern adoption scheme, with all funds raised going towards the Tiananmen Mothers.
