Cambridgeshire Council's Pension Fund Holdings

Steve | 30.09.2008 15:17 | Cambridge

Top 100 pension fund investments for Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) - price and volume.

First off, this is dated as of 31/07/08 so it may well be out of date - particularly where the holdings are in financial companies. You may want to search for your own personal corporate nemesis, but here are the highlights.

The top five are:

1. HSBC Holdings £21,316,533
2. Vodafone Group £20,783,600
3. BP plc £19,810,003
4. GlaxoSmithKline £17,569,172
5. Royal Dutch Shell £15,180,003

The rest are mainly distributed between telcos, energy companies and financial/insurance institutes. However there are a few others that jump out at you. For example, the pensions of CCC's staff are reliant on the performance of Nestle SA (£6.5m), Novartis (£4.7m) and BAe Systems (£4.3m). They've also managed to get the cancer hat-trick by investing in Phillip Morris (£3.5m), Imperial Tobacco (£3.2m) and British American Tobacco (£3.0m).

On a slightly lighter note, they're also helping out everyone's favourite anti-semitic animator, Walt Disney with a £3.1m investment.

interesting, but would think this is a fairly run of the mill selection of companies for a large public sector pension fund.

...just thought I'd see if it was any use to anyone.
