The L.A.I. | 24.06.2008 16:08 | Gender | Social Struggles | Cambridge

The Lesbian Association of India has established a fund-raising café in Cambridge and is looking for creative people, performers and ethical businesses to collaborate.

The Lesbian Association of India, www.l-a-i.org, has established a fund-raising café in Cambridge and is looking for ethical local artist, businesses or enterprises to get involved.

The café is run as any other, the only difference is that rather than making profit, all proceeds go to the L.A.I. in support of projects in India which promote awareness in equality and diversity or support lesbian or bisexual women.

Each week the café has different themes, the launch was Indian, Friday the 27th will be Mexican and so on. Each week we will show a different film related to the theme in the evening and invite local artists/ performers/ businesses/ enterprises to collaborate.

The collaboration could be a performance, an exhibition, demonstration or a sale of ethical products/ services; with any additional money raised being donated to or split with the L.A.I.
