Latin Night will host activist from Brazil to screen new documentary on Brad Will

It has just been announced that Brazilian filmmaker and media activist Miguel will be screening his fantastic new documentary “Brad, One More Night at the Barricades” as part of his European tour. Miguel will be present at the screening to discuss his documentary tribute to a fallen friend.

The film looks at the life of Brad Will (1970-2006), who was a U.S. anarchist, documentary filmmaker and a journalist with Indymedia New York City. He was shot and killed on October 27, 2006 during the teachers' strike in the Mexican city of Oaxaca. When Mexican paramilitary forces shot and killed him, his camera fell from his hands. But it didn't stop recording. It continued moving from hand to hand, telling Brad's story, as well as the story of the movement of movements that he was a part of. From the squats of New York to the forests of Oregon, from the anti-globalization protests in Seattle, Prague, Quebec to the popular uprising in Oaxaca, Brad's camera paints us a picture of what his life was about, and what so many of his friends continue to struggle for.

"He was an anarchist, agitator and journalist who went to Mexico to document peasant revolt ... and he ended up filming his own death." Rolling Stone, Jan. 24, 2008

The film will start at 7pm and will be followed by an evening of the deepest Latin American roots music and the freshest contemporary sounds from the continent. From Folkloric to Electronic Movimientos is the sound of London's Latin alternative.
