Cambridge Fossil Fools Day Protest at RBS Bank

Platypus Bill | 01.04.2008 16:27 | Climate Chaos | Cambridge

The Royal Bank of Scotland is one of the main financiers of climate crime, in the form of oil and gas exploration. After targeting the Trinity Street branch last year, this time protesters paid a visit to the Hills Road Branch to mark the occasion of Fossil Fools Day.

Two protesters climbed the canopy and unfurled a banner.

Others handed out leaflets. Here the RBS manager admires the slogan.

It might be best to blur faces of activists if this kind of direct action is depicted again in the future, as we all know Special Branch pay close attention to sites like Indymedia.

Tactical Note...

I appreciate your comment. I did ask everyone there if they wanted to appear in the pictures (not the coppers of course). In truth, the police will have (digital) drawer's full of their own pictures of most of the activists involved.

I do agree that we should never publish pictures where activists appear recognizably without their consent. No need making FIT's job any easier. The copper with the video camera there wasn't FIT actually, given that I stood in front of him for a while blocking his view and he never moved.

Keep up the good work.
