Time: 10am-4pm
Preliminary timetable:
10am - Darren, an organiser with the Industrial Workers of the World, explains the difference between syndicalism and traditional TUC unionism. The IWW is one of Britain's newest and active trade unions and believes in the concept of One Big Union combining the forces of all, both workers and non-workers, against exploitation by employers.
11am: John Taylor, an expert in green solutions, will give a talk on what's new in the world of environmentally responsible technology and sustainable methods of energy generation. There may be some hands-on learning!
12: Lunchtime - some food will be provided but bring interesting stuff and we can all share it
1pm: A series of short talks from local community activists about projects in the Ipswich area. Good for anyone with a bit of spare time who's looking for projects to get involved with, and for people interested in networking. Full list of speakers tbc.
3pm: Our popular regional roundup, where activists from around the East Anglian region pass on information about the burning issues in their area. Followed by administrative tasks (sorting out where the next EASF is, report on how the website is doing etc) and clearing up.
It should be a good day and a chance to see people who aren't usually in touch, so pass this on to all your friends, contacts, interested people in the pub...
