Petition Power - Online petitions to PM concerning animals

Animal Rights | 15.02.2007 22:36 | Animal Liberation | Ecology | Cambridge | London

This site is a government website where people can start petitions for the Prime minister to take into account. The anti road charging petition being in the news recently because the government are taking on board that 1.5 million people have signed it and it would therefore be unpopular for them to bring this in. This is a potentially great opportunity for people who care about animals to have their say. It is especially important because the Hunt supporters have a petition to scrap the hunting act 2004, which now has 28,000 signatures. We must show the strength of feeling against hunting and support for the ban being tightened.

There are petitions against factory farming, vivisection, fur trade and hunting. Please sign as many as you can for the sake of animals who are suffering in the UK at the hands of those with no compassion.

Petitions have little or no effect. What they do do, however, is to furnish NETCU with your personal details, which they can then use to harrass you.

NO1

Sign them if you can!

If you are worried about your personal information use a secure mailbox service (not a PO box, as details can be easily obtained) or a friends address also ensure you connect to the web correctly (Proxy, net cafe, etc.). Of course if security is essential to you do not sign petitions!

We need to use publicity mechanisms as much as we can, this includes petitions. So if you can sign them, do!
