(Very) Belated Pictures of Ipswich Reclaim The Night March

Yep, I know it's been a long time coming, but I thought these pictures were nice enough to upload all the same.

On December 29th of 2006, about 200 people gathered together in the Town Square in Ipswich for a Reclaim The Night march, to symbolise that, despite the mass murder of five female sex workers in and around the town, people there are still not afraid to walk the streets at night.

Activists from all over the country also accompanied local residents to show their solidarity with the people of Ipswich, as well as stating for the record that sex workers should also be protected a lot more by the law, because, while they are in effect treated like outlaws and outcasts by the powers that be, there is always the risk that a similar incident could happen again.

To borrow a slogan from another campaign...

LEGALISE IT!!
