A new website for Cambridge’s animal rights group

A website has been recently created for Animal Rights Cambridge, the sites list local companies good and bad, information about animal rights issues as well as links.

The group takes action on animal rights issues with public education activities including protests and leafleting.

If you would like to visit the site see  http://animalrightscambridge.bravehost.com

If you would like to become involved in the group meetings are on the fourth Monday of every month @ The Bath House, just off Mill Road. (£1 hall hire per person)

more misinformation

10.12.2006 07:45

I see this web site proudly displays links to BUAV, Hadwen Trust, NAVS etc, whilst stating that animal experiments are now "outdated" (when were they ever relevant?), and are "unnecessary" (when were they ever necessary?) Plus the usual plugs for 'alternatives'.

Sloppy, or other reasons for this misinformation?

And not even, as far as I can see, a contact address.

And some people wonder why nothing changes! Maybe those responsible would like to comment?

I did not make the site, but did post the Indymedia article and I am also part of Animal Rights Cambridge.

I would say that the organisations listed do offer information that is relevant to animal rights activists and/or members of the public, you may not feel this way and you’re entitled to your own views.

You may not feel the type of wording used is acceptable, but different people come from different standpoints and make the case in there own individual way.

The hotline number is on the homepage now, but it may not have been there at the time of your visit.

I do not feel it is helpful for our movement to split or for us to discourage each other.

"I do not feel it is helpful for our movement to split or for us to discourage each other"

The genuine anti-vivisection movement - not to mention the millions of animals destined to die in vivisection labs - won't find it particularly helpful that well-meaning but naive AR people divert others even less well informed to groups and organisations that exist primarily to ensure that vivisection will continue until the end of time.

Can it really be so hard to understand the 'alternatives' racket?

Can people realy not be bothered to read up on the CIVIS literature which exposes these groups for what they are? There is no excuse - all the evidence exists if one can just be bothered to look at it.
