Traveller eviction: Dale Farm

CAN | 10.05.2005 17:01 | Anti-racism | Repression | Cambridge | London

Dale farm will soon be facing eviction. It is a site near
to us, with about 1,800 people living there. So basically,
an entire village will get bulldozed. This Saturday, there
is a march by travellers and supporters: The Dale Farm Freedom March. It is a good first step in finding out how we can help, and a chance to show some solidarity.

If you can make it, email  cambridge@lists.riseup.net, and also let us know if you have a vehicle. Dale Farm is about a 10 minute drive from Wickford station.

More details below:

Saturday, 14 May.

What we'll be doing is drawing up in a convey of vehicles on Oak Lane, Dale Farm, at 11 am - then driving along the A127 for a short way and parking on the north side of Gloucester Park, Basildon, where there is plenty of parking (arranged by the police). From there we'll march on foot to the
Basildon Centre.

(it is very dangerous, near impossible, to cross the A127 on foot)

But you can reach Dale Farm along the A127 (towards Southend) taking the turn at Basildon just after a nursery - you will see the caravans - and the turn is Oak Lane (a track) leading to Dale Farm. Any problem call Nora Egan on 07775527141
