For what it's worth, I agree with some of Ed's comments. I know Iraq is important, but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to fall asleep/cue through/switch off during a long reading about it. The other two items were much easier to listen to. I'm surprised you didn't include an edit of the post office phone call.
Personally, I didn't mind the music, as I'd not heard them before, but I'd be surprised if any of you were listening to them for fun. I also suggest getting a few more typical local accents in there - this is Cambridge, after all. I think I only spotted two (or maybe one speaking twice at different recordings?) in the G8 item. For a speech-based show, we need voices that are easy to listen to and they don't get much easier than local for us.
It's pretty good for a first outing. Will the second improve?
