Unite Against Fascism - Cambridge Branch

We'll be holding our next organising meeting on
Tuesday 8th February, 7:30, at CB2s in Norfolk Street

We will be discussing the building of the public meeting on March 8th.

Also we will be taking names (and money!) for all the people interested in going to the national conference. This will be held on Saturday 26th February 2005 at TUC, Congress
House, Great Russell Street from 9.30am to 5.30pm.

The BNP has already announced that it will be standing in 100 constituencies at the forthcoming general election. The BNP's aim is to increase its presence around the country, particularly targeting areas where they received a high vote in the European and London elections, and where they have local councillors. Unite Against Fascism has called a one day conference to discuss strategies for campaigning against the BNP

There are not any limits to the number of delegates we send, and Union branches are also encouraged to send people ( eg Ealing NUT are sending 6 delegates, LARAG are sending 5 delegates and loads of CWU branches are sending delegates, York Unity have reported the local CWU are paying transport costs for anyone from York going to London - I think Billy Hayes
has sent it out with a personal note to Branches). The national office needs to get an idea of numbers soon so let me know either by e-mail or on Tuesday if you want to be registered. We have funds to help pay transport and registration fees if necessary.

We also need to urge people to join Unite locally and to re-affiliate our local group to the national organisation.

Hope to see you there
