Anybody interested in filling a place on the rota should call 01525 385097 or call / text 07801 686027. Please leave a message if no answer.
Over the last week just 7 activists have maintained a two person per night rota, whilst at the same time managing to continue with their jobs and college courses etc. These people are quite naturally getting tired and a burst of new energy and enthusiasm is needed.
The camp enjoys great local support, with people frequently visiting during the day to stay for a few hours and bring supplies. But unfortunately no local people have yet committed to staying a night.
It is now very well equipped and includes a treehouse, two ground-benders, seats, well equipped kitchen and good supplies of firewood. If you do visit please bring lots of warm clothes.
The camp defends two trees on the Linslade Bypass route and has achieved a good profile in the local media. During the last week their has not been enough activists on site to take any direct action against the bypass work, with protesters often outnumbered 10-1 by police, contractors and security. However just by being their we are making a point, costing them lots of money in security and delaying the whole construction process. No court papers for an eviction hearing have yet been served.

Come on people, WAKE UP!!
Do you really want your countryside tarmacced over?!
Is that the kind of world you want to pass onto your kids?!
I know it's a remote location, but, that's no excuse for not mobilising more people from in and around the Oxford/Cambridge/Bedford/Milton Keynes area.
Don't let these Bullydozer boys win here, because if they do, before you know it, they'll be trying their luck on YOUR doorsteps too, and YOUR OWN parklands and countryside may start to disappear beneath Tarmac and cheap, nasty Plasterboard housing, just there to make a quick buck.
Once the Woods disappear, they're gone forever.
